Philanthropy

Philanthropy is translated from Greek as, friend of the people. Today it is simply known as, Love of Humanity. The Rochester Greek Festival as part of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, has always believed in giving back to the community. Along with sharing our rich culture with Rochester every year, we choose local charities that support the many women and children in need. Below are the past charities that we have donated to as part of our current Philanthropic Campaign.

Please join us on our Philanthropy Friday event when we present our chosen charities with their donation! Stop by the charity booth for more info!

Thank you for supporting us as we support the Rochester Community!

Featured CharitIES 2026

We have chosen two great charities to feature in 2026! Hope Hall School & It’s About Caring for Kids.

Our first featured charity for 2026:

Hope Hall School is a private, non-sectarian, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit school designed for students with special learning needs who consistently experience frustration in the traditional classroom setting. Hope Hall is committed to the belief that when students are given respect and enough time in a supportive, multi-sensory learning environment, they can become successful learners.

Our second featured charity for 2026:

IACKids was formed for the charitable purpose of aiding families living in the Greater Rochester New York region who are in need of financial assistance during their child's long-term inpatient / outpatient hospitalization.
